New Mexico big game tags are some of the most sought after in the Western states and for good reason. Hunting big game in New Mexico is some of the best hunting you will ever experience. Thousands apply annually in the DRAW to try their luck in obtaining one of the many world class tags available in NM. For non-residents, the best draw odds are in the outfitter draw pool. Elk seem to be the most sought after and if a guy can afford it, unit-wide landowner authorizations will guarantee you a hunt, but they are not cheap. Depending on the Game Management Unit (GMU), they range anywhere from $8,000 to $18,000. Are they worth it? Only if you can afford it and have money to spare or write off as a business expense and also have the right attitude–meaning you need to realize you are going on a fair chase hunt on some of the best public lands in the West and there is a chance you might not fill your tag. That’s called HUNTING!
H&A Outfitters, Inc. has guided hunts throughout New Mexico since 1992. We are permitted to outfit in four National Forests in the state of New Mexico and only apply our clients for the best units in each forest. With our hunter application profile, we are able to apply our clients for hunts that fit their needs and optimize draw odds by utilizing the outfitter draw pool and other tactics. Take a look at our free NM hunting license application service and let’s start getting you applied for some of New Mexico’s big game hunting opportunities! The deadline to apply is March 20th, 2024.
