Hunting Season Update

July 08, 2012 by

Now it's time to start scouting for the upcoming 2012 New Mexico big game hunting season that is coming upon us fast.  I can’t believe it’s already that time of year! I made a few trips down south to Unit 15, 16-A and D and saw some good horn growth this year even though it’s still very dry but the good news is the rains are starting.  The forest fire in the Gila was mainly in Unit 16-B which is the Gila Wilderness.  It did cross over into 16-A on the Southwest side of the unit, that part of the unit we don’t hunt anyway.  Still a bummer, but that’s mother nature.   Regardless of what she throws at us, we are still going hunting and are going to make the best of it.    The months of July and August, me and my guides will spend a lot of time on the mountain scouting the units we will be hunting.   August in New Mexico  is the start of the big game hunting season.  Black bear hunting and pronghorn antelope hunting will start off the season.   September brings us archery elk hunting and mule deer hunting,  October is the start of  all rifle and muzzleloader hunts for all big game hunting in New Mexico.

H & A Outfitters, Inc. is looking forward to another successful year of New Mexico hunting.  Our clients have drawn some exceptional tags this year.  Also we have purchased some high quality landowner permits for some of our clients that were unsuccessful in drawing a state tag.  One thing is for sure, we will hunt hard and smart and memories and friendships will be made around the campfires like always.  Oh yeah, did I forget to mention they’re hunting with the best and not the rest?!  Until next time.

Adios,
Andy
